Policy Limitations
We will not pay benefits for loss caused by any of the following:
⦁ As a result of war or an act of war while the Covered Person is serving in any civilian non-com- batant unit serving with the U. S. military, provided such death occurs while serving in such units or within six months after termination of service in such units, whichever is earlier.
⦁ As a result of the special hazards incident to service in any civilian non-combatant unit serving with the U. S. military, if the cause of death oc- curs while the Covered Person is serving in such units and is outside the home area, provided such death occurs outside the home area or within six months after the Covered Person’s return to the home area while serving in such units or within six months after the termination of service in such units, whichever is earlier.
⦁ As a result of war or an act of war, within two years from the Effective Date of coverage, while the Covered Person is not serving in the U. S. military, if the cause of death occurs while the Covered Person is outside the home area, pro- vided such death occurs outside the home area or within six months after the Covered Person’s return to the home area.
⦁ As a result of air travel, in any sort of vehicle, except as a fare-paying passenger traveling on a regularly scheduled flight by an airline, the death benefit will be limited to the amount of premium paid for the Covered Person and no accidental death benefit will be payable.
Suicide within the first two years of a Covered Person’s Effective Date under this Policy or the date of reinstatement with respect to a Covered Person.
For the purposes of this section, “home area” means the 50 states of the United States and its territories, the District of Columbia and Canada. “War” includes, but is not limited to, declared war, and armed aggres- sion by one or more countries resisted on orders of any other country, combination of countries or interna- tional organization. “Act of war” means any act pecu- liar to military, naval or air operations in time of war.
In the event of death by any of these excluded acts,
benefits will be limited to the premium paid for cover- age on the Covered Person.
Term Life coverage is renewable to the earlier of the death of the Policyholder, or the first renewal after your 85th birthday, provided there is compliance with plan provisions, including dependent eligibility re- quirements. The policy includes an initial five year rate guarantee and National General Accident & Health has the right to change premium rates upon providing appropriate notice.

Quality of Life Rider1 | This rider accelerates 70% of the death benefit as a lump sum payment payable directly to the insured on a tax favored basis. Benefits are paid for the following: • Permanent inability to perform at least two of the six Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) without substantial assistance or • Permanent severe cognitive impairment, such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of senility, requiring substantial supervision Benefits may, or may not, be tax favorable. If so, you may incur a tax obligation. As with all tax matters, you should consult your personal tax advisor to assess any potential impacts of this benefit. |
Accelerated Death Benefit2 | For diagnosis of terminal illness by a physician with life expectancy of 12 months (24 months or less in KS, MA, and TX) or less, 30% (25% in MI) of the life insurance in force will be paid in a lump sum not to exceed $50,000. The acceleration of life benefits will reduce the amount of life benefits paid upon death by the amount of the terminal illness benefit paid. |
Emergency Death Benefit | Within one business day of notification, payment of 50% of coverage or $10,000, whichever is less, is mailed to the beneficiary, unless the death is within the two-year contestability period and/ or under investigation. There are no war or terrorism exclusions. |
Childrens Term Rider | Dependent children of the primary and/or spouse are eligible to be covered under this rider, which can be attached to the primary certificate. All eligible dependent children, between the ages of 14 days and 26 years, can be covered under the rider for $10,000 at a cost of $2.00 per month. Children born after the issuance of this rider are covered at 14 days of age at no additional cost. Covered dependents can convert their term benefit to a permanent form of insurance upon reaching 18 years of age, regardless or health or occupation, for amounts up to five times the face amount of the rider benefit, not to exceed $50,000. |
Portability | Coverage is fully portable. Partners and their family members can elect to continue coverage with no loss of benefits or increase of premium should the partner terminate employment after the first premium is paid. |

- Quality of Life Rider is not available to applicants over the age of 65.
- Covered children over the age of 19 are not eligible for a death benefit if they are married or do not receive at least 50% of their financial support from the certificate owner.
- Quality of Life Rider is not available under the Child Term Rider.
This coverage is available when you join the Limited Partnership. Partners must be active to maintain eligibility.
